Candlebox's Rain
Candlebox’s “Rain”
drops in the jukebox
and it starts – steamy
a slow, sultry seduction -
you and I - writhing together
on the dance floor
until a steely metal takes over
and the neon lights in the window
begin a dance of their own
with the scent of stale beer
and cheap cigarettes
then the steel splits open
and gives birth to
something deep and bluesy
and before we know it
a new song drops in the jukebox
and our moment
our perfect moment
in time suspended
is over.
