Savoring the Journey
January 17, 2005
Why are holidays so exhausting?

I'm not dead. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I've simply been going in circles and spending lots of quality time in airports.

Since Thanksgiving I've flown about 13,500 miles. If that doesn't sound like a lot, just think about how many nasty bags of pretzels and cubic feet of jet fuel fumes that encompasses.

I've been...
Home for Thanksgiving
Back to New York for last classes
Home for a friend's wedding
Back to New York for final exams
Home for Christmas
Back to New York for New Year's Eve
Home to do some errands
To the Bahamas on family vacation
Home to do laundry
Back to New York for the start of classes

And somewhere in the middle of all that chaos and hustling, my month of vacation between semesters simply slid down the drain. Argh.

Obviously there are many stories backed up and waiting to be recorded, but I just don't have the mental capacity to do it right now.
