A beautiful little piece - like a gemstone - I found today. The Scent of Green Papaya. It reminded me of a penpal I used to have a long time ago and made me wonder what she's doing now. It is sad how easily we fall out of touch.

The film also made me realize that I've neglected my love of Asian art and literature for a long time. The music, the architecture, everything - I can't explain why I'm drawn to it, but I find it captivating. There is something very quiet, very spiritual and inward about the arts of Asiatic regions - cultures and traditions that date back thousands of years, but are absolutely timeless.
